ASDA, the American Student Dental Association is a national, student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests, and welfare of dental students. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation, and advocacy.
ASDA exists to protect and advance the rights, interests and welfare of dental students. District 11 encompasses the schools of California, including: Loma Linda, USC, UCLA, UCSF, UOP and Western.
When you join ASDA, you’re given a voice, in both your education and profession, and a chance to be part of a strong network of future dentists. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop the leadership skills that will benefit you throughout your life.
UCLA ASDA is proud to announce 95% school-wide membership in 2015-2016. If you are not yet an ASDA member, please contact one of our cabinet members or visit the links provided below for more information.
Licensure is the process whereby a state grants dentists the legal authority to practice dentistry. Each state sets its own licensure requirements. There is no universal licensure exam (i.e. getting licensed in your state doesn't guarantee ability to practice in another state).
ASDA's licensure map provides information about each state, including: the state's licensing board website and the state dental association or society. Review the licensure laws and regulations from the individual state board websites for real-time information about which exams are accepted where licensure is sought.
