The UCLA ASDA Executive Cabinet consists of the President, two Vice Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer and Legislative Liaison. These six individuals are elected by a majority vote held by the UCLA student body. With passion and enthusiasm, they dedicate themselves to promoting ASDA’s core values within the UCLA School of Dentistry.
After selecting the 2017-2018 committee chairs, overseeing the creation of a new committee, Business Symposium, and reorganizing the organizational structure of ASDA, the Cabinet has pushed UCLA ASDA to become the largest and most involved organization on campus. By having each cabinet member directly responsible for managing a number of committees, each cabinet member is given multiple opportunities to experience leadership development.
UCLA ASDA continues to foster relationships with other organizations on campus, continuing its collaboration with the UCLA Associated Student Body and Student Affairs Office. UCLA ASDA has also been asked to participate in Orientation Week for the Class of 2021. With the guidance and direction of these six individuals, the 2017-2018 academic year holds great promise for the ASDA chapter at the UCLA School of Dentistry.
I am a D3 currently interested in specializing in Orofacial Pain and pursuing a career in academia. ASDA has helped me develop my leadership and professional skills, and has supplemented by dental education tremendously. I look forward to getting involved in organized dentistry upon graduation. My interests outside of school are traveling, exercising, and enjoying good food.

Hawa was born and raised in Northern California and stayed there to attend the University of California, Davis, where she received her BS in Neurobiology. She attended medical school for a few months before realizing her heart belonged in dentistry. Hawa couldn’t be happier with where she is today especially with her involvement in ASDA. Being a part of organized dentistry has provided her with the environment to grow outside the classroom and hopes to continue her commitment to it after graduation as well. Some fun facts about Hawa is that she has a twin brother, two dimples and can eat dessert for all three meals.
